I do unpaid community work for almost 6 years by now. And I have something to say:

I am radical & critical, I stay true to it! Here is what I learned by RESPECTING EVERY LETTER of our #lgbtqiap family:

🌸 A hurt ego is NOT a trigger!

🌸A real trigger needs support! Just because our health system failed for many of us, we can’t ping pong pass it on to eachother!

🌸Power is tempting - you might want to check on your own motives!

🌸Hurt feelings don’t justify hate!

🌸 The chronical victim role is part of the trauma triangulation - stop abusing it!

🌸 Real fragility is brave - be careful who to share it with! No matter the gender.

🌸 Peer pressure is everywhere - don’t buy it for finally feel like you belong!

🌸 There is a difference between really wanting to make life better for many than just exchanging the leadership to your own morals!

🌸 Really mean the word community! Not: my own needs are finally being met, fck the rest!

🌸 Community work needs new strategies - casting randomly out & believing into gossip only is not!

🌸 Mind the intention, context & setting of a person & situation always!

🌸 Trauma brains seek for simple answers - sorry, this is not how humans work!

🌸 Be careful of ego flattering people - only true ones will tell you all your aspects, sides, potential. Good, bad or neutral.

🌸 For many of us, insecurities are normal! It’s ok! Accept it!

🌸 Life is unfair - take responsibility yourself & get therapy. It’s about YOU getting better.

🌸 Same goal, different approaches: Don’t accept just 1 trendy opinion or the loudest hottest person‘s one. Dare to be versatile in your own bubble!

🌸 Behavior vs. Right Language: Take a closer look! It’s cool to finally feel safe & seen. But the bigger picture is good intention.

🌸Communication can always fail. Respect is learning. Don’t be a wannabe judge

🌸 Stay sensitive - but realize when you are overwhelmed! Not everyone is dangerous!

🌸 Be forgiving & Kind and still take boundaries - it‘s about balance!

🌸 Stop being ashamed for your needs - guilt tripping others! It’s ok who you are. If not met - not your job!
